Well now I have two boys!!!!!!!!!! The
newest addition is now 7 weeks old :) I started 30DS again this last
Friday. Hubby and I are going strong. Three years together and two years of
marriage. Our oldest just had his 2nd birthday party and I'm currently
batteling the desire to consume one of his cupcakes. I started using
myfitnesspal.com. It's pretty cool, kind of like the facebook of weight
loss sites. Now some pics!

Oh man was it good! Well I have been craving some but I don't buy white rice since I'm trying to be healthier. So I looked up a recipe for brown rice pudding and I thought I'd share it for any of you homey desert lovers.

Ingredients

* 2 cups cooked whole grain brown rice
* 1 1/2 cups milk
* 1/2 cup maple syrup or honey
* 1-2 cup dark raisin (optional)
* 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
* 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon or nutmeg or allspice

Directions

1. In medium saucepan, combine rice, milk, syrup [& raisins, if including them], & bring to boil.

2. Reduce heat & simmer 20 minutes, stirring frequently.

3. Remove from heat & stir in butter & cinnamon.

4. If desired, garnish with additional cinnamon.FrankeeGeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13787720946179149704noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-421035528535443719.post-19139516158501060242010-03-03T11:25:00.000-08:002010-03-03T11:46:43.923-08:0030 DS Making ProgressWhile I'm going to go ahead and wait to post my measurements again until 30 days have passed to make sure they are accurate, I have seen shrinkage in inches and weight. I have lost about 5 pounds! While it's not Biggest Loser numbers I'm very happy :) It's a steady move down the scale and I can't wait to get into the 170 range. I'm 181 right now and my first mini goal is 175.

I think setting mini goals is important to keep me motivated. It will take months for me to get to my ultimate goal of 140-135 so it's good to have steps in between. In the meantime I'm looking forward to fitting my clothes better. My tummy is wrecked from the stretching process and while I would look pretty good in my size 13s if my tummy were tighter I'll look sloppy until that happens no matter what size I wear. That's where all the ab work will pay off. My tummy is where I have seen the most difference in inches since I last measured.

Well. I just have to stick it out! There is definitely improvement and as long as I keep going it will only get better :)FrankeeGeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13787720946179149704noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-421035528535443719.post-34938657669554967072010-03-01T16:39:00.001-08:002010-03-01T16:47:07.422-08:00Stupid Carpet Cleaners! We live in a nice apartment complex. Not extragant, but nice. However they have been doing a lot of renovations and there has been so much noise EVERY DAY that my son gets woken up as many as 3 times a day from his naps! But I've been keeping myself from being too frustrated by the fact that it's usually over by 3. Today, though, minutes after Caleb had fallen asleep for a much needed nap (he'd been getting very fussy and hadn't slept much all day thanks to lawn mowers and grinders and welding) when they started using the noisiest machine to clean carpets I have ever witnessed. And he kept trying to go back to sleep but there was just too much noise! And now I have this cranky, crying, overly tired baby who is too wired to sleep. Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! Stupid freaking carpet cleaners! Well there is my vent, I'm off to try and soothe my son.FrankeeGeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13787720946179149704noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-421035528535443719.post-49130104048779104962010-02-26T14:04:00.000-08:002010-02-26T14:17:42.757-08:00MeasurementsMeasurements at a week into my exercise routine. I'll measure myself every month to check on my progress with the 30 Day Shred. I plan on doing the program until I'm dead or physically unable.

February 26, 2010 :

Bust - 44"
Waist - 38"
Stomach - 45.5"
Hips - 43"
Arms - 14"
Thighs - 27"

Well I definitely have some trimming and sculpting I have to do! But I'm comitted and I'm going to make it happen. I will be so glad to see those numbers shrinking and to see a lean body appear. Wish me luck!FrankeeGeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13787720946179149704noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-421035528535443719.post-36878714611531838752010-02-24T13:23:00.000-08:002010-02-25T13:11:38.600-08:0030DS and 20 minute napsSo I've lost a little weight, 2 or 3 pounds in a week. I didn't take my measurements before I started so I'm thinking about going and getting a measuring tape today. I'm trying to cut back on my portions somewhat, but nothing drastic. I've been doing the 30 day shred for a little over a week now. I do it at least every other day and it only takes 20-30 minutes. I gained between 20 and 30 pounds but I was already overweight so I'd like to lose about 40 pounds altogether. I've always struggled with my weight and have never been really committed to exercise so this is a HUGE life style change for me. But with support from my dh I've been doing pretty well and getting better. I think it helps not just to think of it as losing the baby weight, but deciding to be fit for life. I don't want to hit my mark just to be disappointed with myself a year later when I'm back in size 13 jeans! I love being curvy (picture Shakira and Beyonce) so I'm not worried about trying to be Paris Hilton, I just want to be the healthiest, hottest me!

Also I have to get some fenugreek as my milk supply seems to have decreased somewhat. I'm a little worried that the exercise and slight cut in calories has affected my supply. If it comes down to losing weight or continuing to bf then I will choose breastfeeding.

The baby has been a little tough with naps lately. He's been taking about 5 twenty minute naps a day. But he's seems to be doing all right so I don't mind being a little more worn out than usual.

Mike has been working from 1:30 to 10 at night which can be lonely, but my mom comes over most nights for at least half an hour so it's not too bad. I think the baby prefers his daddy to work mornings though. I think it allows him to wind down better at night knowing his daddy is home.

Well lo is getting tired here so I'm going to rescue him from his jumper. Peace out!FrankeeGeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13787720946179149704noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-421035528535443719.post-55835467000895728392010-02-21T09:21:00.001-08:002010-02-21T14:58:47.554-08:00SAHM and 30 Day ShredSo I've managed to be a stay at home mom. Because I couldn't find work. We're making it though. The hubby and I are both glad I can stay at home with Caleb. I don't have to miss out on any of his moments and we can continue with our attached parenting. I don't have to worry about getting him to take a bottle, which he's made quite clear he rejects. It's nice too because hubby and I don't have to spend anymore time apart because of conflicting schedules. I'm still trying to work out something so I can contribute some to our finances. But Mike (hubby) is such a great provider :)

Keeping up the house is a bit of a challenge. Often things get piled up to the point of being grotesque but I manage to get it all under control again. It can be hard, but satisfying. And of course Mike helps out too. His hours can be erratic and long but we're thanking God he has work. The shop is thankfully getting some more business so he'll be able to work 40+ hours again. All things considered we're still doing quite well. We have cable and internet and plenty of food and a nice apartment and first and foremost each other!

I love being a mother and wife. Especially to my two wonderful men.

On another note, I've started an exercise program called 30 Day Shred with Jillian Michales. It is unbelievably intense, but I can't wait to to see the results of the hard work. I've been stuck at about 180 pounds and I need to lose about 45. I'm hoping it won't take longer than 6 months with this routine. I'll post updates in two weeks, if there is anything worth mentioning :pFrankeeGeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13787720946179149704noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-421035528535443719.post-38568882669143287452010-02-20T20:44:00.001-08:002010-02-20T21:05:57.060-08:00Caleb 5 months strong<img style="cursor:pointer; Caleb was born 1:17 am via c section on September 17th, 2009. He is now 5 months and 3 days old. He is amazing. He's so handsome and sweet. He's very inquisitive and interactive.

Motherhood and wife-hood are treating me fantastically. I've been so blessed. It's exhausting but with the support of my husband, family and friends it's been a truly joyous experience thus far.

That being said, I have never prayed more in my life. Succinctly I pray for Caleb to have health and happiness and to live a long and fruitful life in God.

He never ceases to amaze me. Everyday he does something fantastic, whether it's a laugh a cuddle or reaching a new milestone. I honestly cannot believe he is almost 6 months old.

He can roll over both directions, he can get up on his hands and knees though he is still perfecting that art. He loves standing and can hold his own weight though he needs support to keep his balance. He is gabbing away and is a total daredevil, enjoying being flipped, swung and hanged upside down. He's gotten his first two teeth (bottom front) and has started his first solids, so far he has had rice cereal, carrots and peas. Carrots are his favorite.

I plan on keeping a regular blog tracking his growth and my marriage to the fabulous Mr. S. Pictures will be abundant.FrankeeGeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13787720946179149704noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-421035528535443719.post-40157681636794067392009-05-12T17:18:00.001-07:002009-05-12T17:46:35.114-07:00I need to be a dentistI just forked over $364 for four fillings. Said fillings took an hour or so to complete. And that was the copay, I'm not sure how much my insurance covered. Dear God! That must be nice. My dentist asks me, "Do you think I should start taking Fridays off?" Yes, yes you should. Because you were smart enough to study your butt off and land this cushy if sometimes nauseating job and you can afford to just take Fridays off if you want to. The only person who's had a nicer job that I've met was my orthodontist. He didn't even work on my mouth. He took a five minute look around, told someone else what to do and disappeared. Even his receptionist took a two hour lunch.

Don't get me wrong, both my dentist and my ortho were great. Really good at what they do. It just hurts to put that much down. But it was my fault. My kid is gonna have the cleanest mouth in the U.S. Brushing and flossing are so worth it. Do it now or pay for it later!

Thank God my dad felt very generous and ambushed us with a few hundred dollars. He can be a very sweet man.

That's all for this update.FrankeeGeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13787720946179149704noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-421035528535443719.post-35030707037308515812009-05-06T11:11:00.001-07:002009-05-06T11:33:08.505-07:00Wannabe Work at Home MomI just went on maternity leave. It's early but my job requires a lot of lifting, bending, standing and it had just started taking a really uncomfortable toll on my body. My Doc agreed that it was about time for me to take leave, so here I am. At home. And to make an embarrassing confession; I can't drive. I am horrible at it. So I'm stuck in the area. But I will learn how to drive when the baby is born.

Anyway! I've got my heart set on finding a way to work from home. I can't stand the idea of leaving my baby with someone else. And it really doesn't make any sense for me to go to work when I'll only be making enough to pay for the daycare.

But it's hard to find legit work from home offers. At this point we're thinking a) home day care. I've taken care of multiple kids regularly before so I think it would be doable. But with my very first child in infancy I find it a daunting aspect, quite possibly too much to handle. B) Data entry. Hubby says his sister is doing it scam free so we have to talk to her about the company she works with.

This is definitely the coolest and most amazing thing that has ever happened to me and I wouldn't give it up for every one of your anonymous lives ;) But it can be overwhelming. I mean, I'm standing here at the foot of Mt. Everest clad in California Casual sans climbing gear, and hey! Where the hell is my Sherpa?FrankeeGeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13787720946179149704noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-421035528535443719.post-86255263827371318552009-05-05T10:38:00.000-07:002009-05-05T10:50:24.859-07:00As the Belly Grows/WolverineMy child has been super active the past few days. Which I like because it's fun and I know he's ok :p It makes up for how torturous it's been trying to find a name! Aidan is out. Kaleb is out.

Quinn is a possibility, but I don't think it's right. Oh well, the search continues. At least we have a few months until the day. I keep telling the hubby we should just name him Kid since that's how I refer to him now. It's a joke but watching him get all uppity is funny.

We saw X-men Origins: Wolverine the other day. It was fantastic (for the most part) and I hope they make a mini series thing out of it. It was very well done and I give it two thumbs up. You all should go see it.

I'm super psyched to see the new Terminator movie. It just looks like it's going to be superb.

Oh and if you will, wish us luck because we're going to be looking for a bigger place here in the next few days. One bedroom and 700 sq ft is filling up fast and we don't even have any baby stuff yet!FrankeeGeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13787720946179149704noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-421035528535443719.post-62406925685805274552009-04-29T16:14:00.000-07:002009-04-29T16:16:41.694-07:00What's in a name?So like I said, we're having a boy. But I have no idea what I want to name him. My fiancee likes Aiden, which is a good name, but it's also really popular right now and I'm not in love with it. And I want to be. I want to love the name we're going to bestow upon the first of our offspring for the rest of his life. So the search continues! Any ideas?FrankeeGeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13787720946179149704noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-421035528535443719.post-21555221128464512282009-04-29T14:34:00.000-07:002009-04-29T14:43:58.711-07:00Milk & SexLactose reduced milk didn't help. I still threw up. So any hope I offered on that front I take back. Sorry ladies.

But I found out the babies sex! It's a boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You couldn't understand unless you knew us but my fiancee is literally the perfect man. God blessed me with the family I always wanted to start and I'm so thankful. Seeing Mike's reaction when we found out we were having a boy was perfect, especially since he'd really been hoping for a girl. Not even a moment's hesitation to suggest anything was missing from his joy.

And you should see the juevos on our baby. He's a little stud :p

As a note *I just joined 20something bloggers. How melodramatic and cliche can they get? (Should they see this, I would like to clarify that my previous statement is not a challenge!)FrankeeGeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13787720946179149704noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-421035528535443719.post-11090717725501500402009-04-25T15:41:00.000-07:002009-04-25T15:53:48.684-07:00Lovely Nirvana/ The Dawn of the Pregnancy Cold. The plaintive strains of Lithium accompany my physical discomfort perfectly. I've got to say I'm amused by my ability to indulge myself so greatly. I have a slight fever and I feel a little dizzy. My throat is scratchy and my nose is alternately stuffed and flowing. And I'm being pampered and made fun of in just the right harmony. I love my mom. She makes me chicken noodle soup and then teases me for eating too much chocolate. Well what I'm trying to say, I guess, is that despite being honestly sick, today has been fairly pleasant. I hope I can make it to work tomorrow. I don't want to miss two days.FrankeeGeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13787720946179149704noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-421035528535443719.post-21404321554518129882009-04-23T22:47:00.000-07:002009-04-23T22:50:06.588-07:00Some funny jokes. What do you call a bunch of white guys sitting on a bench?

The NBA.

Drunken Irish
An Irishman called Paddy was drinking at the pub all night.
It was pretty late and the bartender came up to him to tell him that the bar was closing. So the Irishman stood up to leave and fell flat on his face. He tried to stand up one more time with the same result. So he figured he'd just crawl outside, hang out for a while, get some fresh air and hopefully that would sober him up.
Once outside he stood up and fell again right on his face.
So he decided to crawl the 4 blocks to his home and when he arrived at the door he tried one more time with the same results.
Exhausted, he then gave up and started crawling to the bedroom.
When he reached his bed he tried one more time to stand up.
This time he managed to pull himself upright but he quickly fell right into the bed and fell sound asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow. The next morning, he woke up with his wife standing over him shouting at him.

"So, you've been out drinking again!!"

"What makes you say that?" He asked as he put on an innocent look.

"They called, you left your wheelchair at the pub again."

You have one wish
A woman was walking along the beach when she stumbled upon a Genies lamp. She picked it up and rubbed it, lo-and-behold a Genie appeared. The amazed woman asked if she was going to receive the usual three wishes.

The Genie said, "Nope ... due to economic inflation, constant downsizing, low wages in third-world countries, and fierce global competition, I can only grant you one wish. So ... what'll it be?"

The woman didn't hesitate. She said, "I want peace in the Middle East. See this map? I want these countries to stop fighting with each other."

The Genie looked at the map and exclaimed, "Wow, lady! These countries have been at war for thousands of years. I'm good, but im not THAT good! I don't think it can be done. Make another wish."

The woman thought for a minute and said, "Well, I've never been able to find the right man. You know, one that's considerate and fun, likes to cook and helps with the housecleaning, is good in bed and gets along with my family, doesn't watch sports all the time, and is faithful. That's what I wish for, a good mate."

The Genie let out a long hard sigh and said, "Let me see that fucking map!"FrankeeGeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13787720946179149704noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-421035528535443719.post-18591406334685034752009-04-23T20:58:00.001-07:002009-04-23T21:08:38.029-07:00Pregnancy induced lactose intolerance!Hey everyone. This is my first blog post on bloggerdotcom. I'm 22, engaged and pregnant. Yeah we mixed it up a little bit :p This blog is for those pregger vixens out there who suddenly find that they can not drink milk while they are pregnant without throwing up.

You aren't weird. It was hard for me to find written confirmation of this, but it seems to be that because our digestive systems have slowed with pregnancy we can no longer tolerate lactose, the main sugar in cow milk, which is already difficult to digest. Best tip I've heard is to try lactose reduced milk. I'm too biased to try soy or rice milk. I'm gonna try the lactose reduced milk and post a review.

And remember, always ask your doc before you try something new out :)FrankeeGeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13787720946179149704noreply@blogger.com0
